The country is among several Africa countries expected to experience a sharp aid decrease when President-elect Donald Trump entered office mid next month. This follows the new administration cost cutting initiative to save fund for infrastructure spending at home—this is likely to cut aid to developing countries.
A report released recently by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), named other countries as Kenya, Ethiopia, DRC and Nigeria.
Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and DRC have been mentioned as some of the African countries likely to witness sharp decrease of aid from the one of the world super power, the US, following the new economic policy of the new administration that takes the office mid January next year.
Furthermore, in terms of official development aid receipts to East Africa, Ethiopia received the largest sum with over 3.5billion US dollars in aid, followed by Kenya and Tanzania with over 2.5billion US dollars and Uganda with over 1.5billion US dollars.
