    USAID, Jhpiego commended for improving health

    He thanked development partners-- the US government through its International Aid Agency (USAID) and Jhpiego -- for the support in improving the health sector in the country. He made the remarks yesterday when launching a five-year programme, “Boresha Afya”, which is being cofunded by USAID and Jhpiego.
    “The government appreciates Public Private Partnership (PPP). The contribution by the US government has greatly improved the health sector through quick and quality services,” he said.
    Experts in the Ministry of Health attended a one-day workshop to evaluate success and challenges recorded during a two-year implementation period of the Maternal Child Survival Programme (MCSP) which was implemented in all eight district councils – Bukoba, Biharamulo, Ngara, Karagwe, Kyerwa, Muleba, Bukoba Municipality and Misenyi.
    USAID representative, Raz Stevenson, and Jhpiego Country Director, Jeremia Zoungrana, also attended the launch of “Boresha Afya” programme, which was held in Bukoba Municipality.
